In today¿s competitive global business environment, etiquette, civility and protocol are of paramount importance in all interactions, whether they are face-to-face, or via electronic communication systems. Employees are a key factor in the success of any organization and their ability to demonstrate good manners, etiquette, protocol and civility to effectively represent organizational culture is critical. This takes skill, practice, good attitude and commitment. Knowledge and use of good manners and etiquette can avoid the embarrassment of behavior that may be perceived as disrespectful, discourteous or abrasive. Having these important skills enhance personal and professional effectiveness, self-confidence and add significant value to any organization. This course will teach and reinforce important basics of business etiquette, civility and protocol by focusing on the human and well-mannered side of business. The course will underscore the importance of respectful, responsible and considerate conduct in everyday business matters and will show employees how having these skills can make a big difference to their careers and the organization. Through practical, real world examples and activities, the course will focus on key elements of civil behavior in the workplace including telephone etiquette, email and web (netiquette), business meetings, business meals, social events and first impressions.
